Alpha Kappa believes in the motto that our Founder's set, which is "Do Good". We host "Sight Awarness Week" each fall, which includes our annual pancake feed, Desserts with DG, anchor spike, The Most Beautiful Sight, and a fundraiser at Orange Leaf. During this week we spread awarness and educate the community about visual impairments.
Alpha Kappa also volunteers weekly in the Topeka Community. Members of the chapter participate in the Golden Anchor Program and Joining Forces by calling bingo at Brewster Place every other Wednesday evening, and every other Thursday at the VA.
Another way that the chapter is involved in the community, is by volunteering at the Kansas State School for the Blind and a local elementary school. Members have enjoyed helping at the annual Braile Challenge, KSSB track meet, and parent's day.
Madison and Rheanna are already hard at work this semester organizing events such as Hoops for Troops, brainstorming new ideas for our annual fundraiser, and much more! We hope you are ready :)
